New gold cap?

I think to change the gold cap in trades and in stash would be a good change in the game because nowadays I see many people trying to sell high value items but are scared to get scammed because you can only fit 9,999,999 gold in a trade window. By making the gold cap higher to I don't know, let's say 30m there would be less trade scams, less running around to get your money when you're trying to buy a high valued item and you would be able to put up items in cs (Black dragon, elites, etc..) instead of having to spam selling this but don't want scammers blabla.


This is just a suggestion and I'd like to hear your opinions..

I agree that the current PL economy has outgrown the gold cap limit, which has never gone up (as far as I know). Back in the beginning of PL, having 10M gold was crazy, and no items traded for anywhere near that sum. Now that top-end items routinely trade for 2x that amount, I think a higher gold cap would make sense.

There is something to Ruizhe's point that prices would go up, but I believe that would be just a short-term "settling" effect as items that were actually worth more than cap (say 12M) are finally able to be traded safely for that amount. The current cap does I believe put a lid on items that are close to 10M where people want a safe trade and agree to sell for less than they could otherwise get. But items worth way more (e.g. black dragon armor around 20M) are never going to be sold for that little so they run the risk of having to use "unsafe" trade methods.

Because there's no effective gold sink in PL, prices will always rise for as long as the game exists. Whatever gold cap is, it will always eventually become a bottleneck on the economy after enough time. If it were up to me, I'd raise gold cap to 100M, which provides plenty of breathing room for years and is far more than any item is currently worth in the PL economy. And if that number is ever too little in some crazy inflation-driven future, just move it up again.

I think he means that say you're buying a ESB Set for 20mil. You could put up Gold Cap+Demo Xbow Set+Savage set which would require 7 trade slots.

But yeah, a 100mil cap def will be useful. Trade slots also help when selling say a custom xbow/recurve/talon/dagger set.

I think raising the gold cap would increase the cost of some items.

You can use a trusted 3rd party person to help with the purchase about 10mill

It should be like in arcane legends the gold cap there I believe is 20m or maybe 50m or 100m lol forgot
