Nintendo 2DS
Hello,
Has anyone bought the new handheld from Nintendo released side-by-side with the X and Y games? Looks pretty cool to me, and since I don't like 3D much and am a low-baller, it seems a pretty viable option to me.
What do you think? Is it worth getting?

Looks pretty cool to me. And it's $70 dollars cheaper than the 3DS. It gives all features of the 3DS but 3D mode, so IMO it's worth getting if your on a budget.Originally Posted by miistic

It's a cool idea but an odd shape. If you have the means of storing it safely when you're out and about its an extremely viable alternative to a 3DS. For Pokémon X/Y it makes sense to get the 2DS since only battles and a couple cut scenes take advantage of the 3D capabilities.

True. Its slate-like shape makes it kind of awkward!
And yes, I am buying it primarily for Pokémon X or Y! I am in love with the franchise (kind of dropped out during the B/W era though - the monsters were too ew for me). Of course, I am looking forward to trying many other 3DS games as well.
Guess I'll try it out.
How is Pokemon a no? I know this is your opinion, but I would like to here why you think so.

I love my 3DS XL...2D just the shape it's awkward like mentioned before. The Nintendo rep told me it was made for parents who didn't want their children playing with the 3D feature. They think it'll mess up their eyes, but already playing on any handheld or even watching tv does the same dmg. Pokemon X is good I'm going to finish it before I get into Y (I bought both).
Oh BTW you CAN turn off the 3D if you dislike it. There's a switch for that.
