What is secret santa?

Secret santa is a popular winter holiday event in which you are anonymously gifted something without knowing whom got you the gift. Traditionally, everyone gets 1 gift and the gift received is equal in value to what you have given.

The Gift Group categories

-Group A: The gifts given/received are between a 50k-100k, no need to break the bank.

-Group B: The gift given/received are between 250k-500k, for those that wanna spend alittle extra.

Okay, how do I participate?

You need to give your gift to my in game event character SantaEvent as given below. Your gift will be cataloged into the appropriate category and given to someone in your group on December 25th. The time is yet undecided, but I'll let you know by then.

What if there is an odd number in a group?

I will personally buy something as a gift to give so everyone gets something that participates

How will I know when to give you the gift?

If I am online here, I am online in game too.

So someone will become the "secret santa" and "secretly" go around giving away pinks / items? Sounds neat to me i wouldnt mind would bring back the christmas feel and lets hope they dont mess up christmas like they did halloween.

No... Secret santa means that every player has to give another player a gift. That other player is randomly assigned.

It would be a massive overhaul and really hard to organize, but with a good 4 person team, I think it could be done.

Setting standards may be difficult. People may just give out trashy pinks and others give out priced pieces. I think a Secret Santa event within a small group of friends would be nice. Very difficult considering the amount of trustworthy and dedicated people in PL. Sorry for the pessimistic view.

Usually a secret Santa has a set amount of gold you can spend on the gift.

I'd say to avoid large scams, a limit of 100-200k should be implemented.

But as sheugokin stated, if it's only amongst a group of trustworthy people such as some here in forums, then the gold limit may be raised.

Assuming that the only participants were forum goers, and the event is staffed by 3 trustworthy members and myself, I'm sure it can be worked out who should or should not participate amung the 4 hosts. On my guilds forum, we split the event into 6 categories, 50k, 150k, 300k, 500k, 1m, and 2m+. I and another are in the 2m+ category, however, no one else has said they'd participate :/

Events aren't made on the fears of failure. People thought I couldn't pull off a 500+ item giveaway, but I did it anyways.

Even without support, anything can happen. But if everyone is adamant on being a negative nancy, then you don't need, or have to participate. I suggested this idea because it might be something fun to do, or look forward to, after the failure that was halloween

lol PL is doomed...just accept it. They didn't even rename the events..still have 2012 XD that's enough to prove.

I want to host it, but not alone. And if I can get at least one alterian guardian on board, that'd be great. My ideal hosting team is myself and three others

If you think you can host it, alright. The thread has to be very straightfoward, do you want to handle that? I can do whatever, wether writing the thread itself, or organizing people. I doubt a GoA will help, Crim left, Apollo/other active ones are in Al. You can try to send Mysticaldream a pm...
