Yesterday 10 of my characters were on day 5: 3 shields, 2 antennas, 4 x 1.25 combo, 1 x 1.5 combo Oo

Congrats! Unfortunately, you are mistaken. Although you may have gotten 3x on all of your characters, there are also other things you can get on day 5, so it is not 100% chance of getting a 3x combo on day 5.
