The latter.
This has generated a lot of ill feelings, for it's an item that distinguishes an older player.
Personally, I feel like it shouldn't be offered again.

The white one was only given to winners of a few pvp contests. The second one is just for players who had some plat to spend on Halloween 2012, so I don't see what the rage is all about.

You honest to god piss me off with your answers. How do you not see how people are mad?
I do get that people are mad about old and rare items being re-released. But I wouldn't have thought this shield to have such an emotional value.
For me having the snowman helmet in every vanity set is much more disturbing as for me that is THE winter event item from 2010.
But to each their own.

I really think you are slightly overreacting. STS has been known for re-releasing "exclusive" items, so I don't see how you expected this to be the exception. Besides, it's not really that old and anyone could get it if they had some platinum. I find it interesting too, that one can develop such emotions towards a virtual 3D object and be furiously jealous, when other people are given the option to obtain the same 3D virtual object.
Did that shield make you feel special? You don't need some item to prove that. You already are special, you are the legendary, brutally honest VVake. No item can show that off.

The player that is truly old school and knows what's up should be able to produce something better than a vanity offered little over a year ago. I've played a year and 5 months and don't personally consider anything in that time frame old or veteran.

Spooky shields were released in 2011 Hween event and have not been re-released yet. Why is everyone saying 2012 lol.
