Default sts please make it possible to kick a member on a PvP team

having recently decided to join my friends and make a twink I've come to find a few twink guilds that cheat in a very pathetic way. what they do is foo one team then place two purple from their own guild on the other team. these two people just sit there doing nothing so they can 5v3 the remaining people. there is a very simple solution to this. make it so that you can tap on a person's name on your team and a box appears that says" vote kick" . then a box appears in the middle of the screen says" are you sure you wish to vote to kick player name" yes, no. then if two more puerile in that team also vote to kick a player that player gets kicked off the team and can no longer return to that PvP zone. this will end the cheating and since it would require a majority in a team to vote a player out it is fair. this will encourage fair play and ends cheating. please consider this change sts this will better PvP

maybe but no one had a design to make it possible in a fair way this is a thorough way to make it so that a majority vote is needed on a team to kick a player from that team. sometimes puerile need to come up with a logical way for sts to act on it

I'd just leave that game and go to another game. The abusers will stop if they can't find any opponents willing to fight them.

I like the idea, but I can see where it could be abused. One way to avoid that would be for a player to be automatically booted from the match if they aren't active within a certain time frame. That way it is the game initiating it not a player.

Hey guys. I moved this to suggestions and feedback because it makes it easier for us to find and address. Like the others said, a "kick" option could easily be abused but some of these suggested fixes are definitely worth looking at. Thanks! I'll pass it along to the team.

vote kicking is the best as it is by a consensus of the majority of the party. If say an overwhelming 80% percent wants the person gone then thats good.

i think pvp should be implemented like room system in many game

player can create/host room, other player can choose room then choose what team, become observer, etc

Truth. Here's a more detailed explanation (pops knuckles):

No matter how you say it, a "kick" option will never be fair in PvP. It'd allow for people to kick someone off without reason. Not everyone is morally capable of keeping a stranger in the game by clicking "no". They'll vote yes just because they dont like them. And it'd allow for pvp guild drama to come into play. Say 4 people in <Guild Black> join a game on the same team. And someone in <Guild White> joins the team because the other's full. The 4 people vote to kick the one lone wolf to troll/ruin their fun. That's not fair, is it? Everyone has the right to play the game the way it should be. Your guild does not own the PvP room.

The solution here is to keep track of wins & losses. I said this a long time ago. It would eliminate flagging also.

The idea is that you have CTF Team Wins & Losses in your stats. The rules are as follows:

    1) If you join a game and leave before it ends and your team wins, you do NOT get a win.

    2) If you join a game and leave before it ends and your team loses, then you DO get a loss.

    The encourages the following behavior:

    1) Players will not want to leave a game in the middle, since they can end up getting a loss if the team loses.

    2) Players will not join a game just to take up space and not help the team, since they will end up with a loss if the team loses (this solves the issue being discussed in this thread)

    3) Players will not allow free flags and will compete to win the game.

    4) Players are encouraged to help the flagger on their team, even giving themselves up for the safety of the flagger. This encourages team work.

If this "Team Wins/Losses" stat is added, and if some nice Team Wins APs are added, then CTF will return to how it was originally intended to be.

Hmm...actually no. If you want to have fun in pvp and ensure that you are playing as a team then its the teams call to decide whether or not player is allowed to play with them. Its the same way as a guild deciding who are their members. If the lone wolf gets kicked out then its too bad and he is free to join another game. Most who play it play it to gain good stats regardless of guild or to have fun. If the lone wolf is not a team player or is irritating or is simply not the right class the team reserves the right to vote him out. Its the same in every game whether in real life of just an online game. The team or the captain or the management decides whats best for the whole and decide accordingly who is in and who is out. Now that being said he is more than welcome to join anyone else unless for some reason no one likes him then he needs to work on his social skills.

Although it might solve a couple problems, it is a pain and there are many flaws behind this. For instance, what will 1v1's then become? I don't think people would want to 1v1 in a place like TDM. So -1

Yeah, there really needs to be a separate 1-on-1 arena. I posted that idea in another thread!

Problem with just awarding wins & losses by who is left at the end of the game is that everyone will just leave if the team is losing, and then nobody will ever get a loss. So it will revert back to people flagging and blocking the losing team (as was complained about in this thread), and then those players on the losing team will just leave before it ends. There has to be some reason for players not to do this, and so you give them a loss if they leave and their team ends up losing.

Or there can be a set time limit, let's say 15 seconds. If you leave a game within 15 seconds of your team's loss, it counts as a loss on your statistics.

Ummmmmm... actually yes. Again, abuse would surely come to place (Remiem even agrees). You mentioned how similar it is with guilds. It is totally different. A player can create a guild and choose how he can run it because he was the one who created it. He is the owner of that guild. He reserves the right to remove a player from his guild for whatever reason. A team isn't the owner of a PvP match. The owner(s) would actually be STS and only STS because the PvP match is their product. They reserve the right to establish regulations and take appropriate action to enforce them. Afterall it is their game (they could change the sorcerer into a frog if they wanted to). STS hasnt implemented a vote-to-kick feature in their game's PvP system because they want to make the game as fair as possible. They know people would kick them for reasons of intruding on another player's fair gaming equality. If you dont like a player, then you leave. They dont have to leave just because they arent beneficial to your interests. Its like a job. You'll work with people you may not like, but you have no right to fire them.

Those who is in the PvP arena doing nothing, may be AFKing there. But there is no rule that says "AFKers will be kicked." If your the guild owner, you may kick your guildies if your not satisfied with them or they violated the guild rules (if you have guild rules) . But its a whole different situation in the arena. STS controls the arena and you can't just ask them to leave. If STS did make a system that AFKing players which are longer for five minutes will kicked, the AFK (or maybe lagging/spectating) players will be agitated as probably they are spectating the game and STS didn't know that. If STS did not make this system, you can't just force them to leave. Its their choice whether to leave or not to leave. No matter how unsatisfied with those players who are spectators/lagging/AFK, you must still cooperate with them. If your losing, just leave. Noone stops you from doing that.

**This situation is not for players who speaks vulgarities in arena, whoever did can be reported by some players and may get a temp-ban.

So people will leave before that then. People will leave as soon as it even appears that their team may lose. Remember how CTF was back when it first came out? The game would last 2 minutes, and then whichever team was losing the battles would quit one by one until nobody was left.

The only way to have good honest CTF contests is to give players an incentive to stay in a losing battle and try to win. And the only way to do that is to have a penalty for leaving a game. The penalty should be that if you leave and your team loses, you get a loss, but if your team wins after you leave you do NOT get a win. On the other hand, if you join a game after it has already started, then you should not get a loss no matter what, but if the team you joined wins, then you should get a win if you finish the game.

well, for tdm, maybe devs can implement something that is similar in warcr*ft3, player create game, wait for another player coming in, start the game, people who left in the middle of the game is given automatic death equal to number of rounds left, and maybe host can end the game with some commands, so team who are left by won't be given death value...
