Are You Super Excited about Winter Olympics?

So who else is watching the Olympics?

It's been a few years since the Summer Olympics and 4 years since the last Winter Olympics, that I'd forgotten how much I really enjoy it. Tonight I caught some Sochi Olympic trials and I love it -- all the snow and ice and jumps and all the athleticism.

I am definitely looking forward to the Opening Ceremony later and will watch all the skiing, cross country and indoor skating events! The more snow and ice the better!

Considering Russia is like 20 years behind in technolgy... They couldnt supply toilette paper to our people competing, and the bathrooms have no stalls... no this is not an Olympics to remember!

Oh well, I'm really looking to see all the mountain sports.

I'll probably watch the figure skating and speed skating competitions. But I've always preferred the summer Olympics-- I love the gymnastics, swimming, synchronized swimming, and track & field competitions!

Ah, I love hockey. I also love the fact that Canada or USA won't win. Will be a huge miracle if Sweden or Russia won't win.

Please. Russia has no defense and with the offense Canada has they won't be able to play against them.
Canada also has better goaltending if you ask me, Price has led his team all year and without him they would be at the bottom of the standing.

USA also has good goaltending but I don't like their choice in defense and forwards.

Sweeden imo only have a good goalie and a couple good forwards.

So my pick is Canada vs Russia in the finals and Canada will win in a high scoring game.

I'm looking forward to watching them simply because I enjoy watching all sports, not because I'll have a clue whats going on.
@Panda I agree completely with you. For the olympics I have to make an exception to my morals though (Part of me screams hypocrite)

I don't feel in anyway touched by winter olympics neither was i waiting for this one. They transmit it 24/24 on tv and when zap i skip the channel.

I prefer following the six nation rugby tournament.

I actually thought about the boycott initially too. And I thought about the Berlin Olympics and the Moscow Olympics.

It occurs to me that the whole point of the Olympics is to come together for sports.

And that the more controversial or important the protest, the more important it is to show that the world can overcome it, and show up to the Olympics, which was supposed to be a suspension of conflict, to celebrate people, physical ability and peaceful competition.

And possibly for everyone to show up and show that we are all people together.

Anyways, that was my thought.

I'm like the opposite lol. I love winter olympics. I watched summer olympics last year amd year before it, but I like winter better
Even though I barely know any names of any players, I just like to watch it.
