i have a question about mythic upgrade:

one of my friend said me:''if you socket gems before the mythic upgrade,the gems will be lost after mythic upgrade''

is it correct or false ?

Correct.

If you have a socketed un-upgraded mythic helm or armor and then do the questline for upgrading it, they become new items and therefore lose the gems.

This is true you lose the gems when upgrading. I just went through it not to long ago.
