Sorry to hear you leave AL but I wouldn't give away all your gold :O
If you are giving some out only give to your best buddies for if you come back they will hopefully return it if asked.
If you give your impressive gold amount away to random's you will feel good for donating to charity but feel regret when you come back.
One does not simply "quit" AL and I would advise to keep 10m maybe so you won't be to much in the dumps when you return.
However, I'm not your mom and you can choose what to do with your money but I'm just suggesting to keep it like others have said.

That's A LOT to just give away.
It may seem unlikely at the moment that you'd pick up AL ever again, but in some time you may have the freedom or urge to play, and find that AL has tons of new and fun things about it.
If you feel like giving back to the community before going away, do it in a fun way. Make a bunch random & fun contestd. First person to do this or that. Or pick someone randomly from a 5 hour entry period. Asks questions and have prizes.
Make prizes as either a lump of gold, a Grimm egg, a handful of Tarlok gems, etc.. The fun in this is that you can help multiple people at a time. Go into auction and buy good things and then give those away in a contest. Buy 30 elite golds as a prize for someone. Get creative.
However, don't use all your gold up. Save yourself at least 35-50 mil. If you gave away 40m worth of items that were 500k each, you'd be able to give 80 people something really nice.
Only those who risk going past the edge will find out how far they can go.
Give it away to your friends. Not to a bunch of greedy people who dont know who you are. Have fun and good luck with life.

I say hang on to it in case you come back and if anything give the gear to who you trust the most if they need it.
