Advice on a L56 bird.

Hey guys.

I recently created my level 56 bird, which is either very underpowered or I'm simply unskilled (which I've been told). I have had experience with l51 bird pre-forg era and post Nerf. I am also fairly used to l61 bird (pre-forg).

Well currently I am full Dex using a obed xbow set with crit/DMG ring. My skills are all 6 except med/restore/1 avian.
I can nuke a bird easily, and mages are not to hard depending on if I hit their ms. But I cannot kill a bear, on my life. Level 51 bear just have to rage>beckon>stomp and I'm dead.

I know how to double root, with constant blind to remove hit%, but with one hit beckon CBS/stomp there isn't time for that.

Any suggestions?

Bears rnt hard for birds, infect if used properly this underpowered class can wreck anyone. Does not matter how weak (fragile) we r, but offense is the best defense

L56 dex birds are underpowered plain and simple. They simply don't have the armor and dodge to compete. Yeah, if you're really good you could be successful, but that doesn't negate the fact that they are underpowered. I would suggest going dex/str and use royal sewer armor and helm to get some extra dodge and armor. (If you simply must be pure dex, I'd recommend getting 55 drainers gear. That will at least give you enough survivability to whoop the 51s)

Pure dex birds in general have seen better days and are becoming extinct over time. Part of this is because classes like Rhino and Fox can out tank dex birds while still dealing enough damage to kill them. Our only option, as birds, is to go str/dex in order to compete. This contributes to bears being over powered because we lose a bit of damage going dex/str.

Bears are honestly a problem in and of themselves. If we go more on the survivability side, we can't dps them down. If we go more on the damage side, they nuke us with beckon>HS>CS>Stomp>SMS. Sounds like a lot, but those skills can be cast very quickly. It's my humble opinion that they are the "overpowered" class at 51-56. Granted, not too op, but still.

I'm sure many will begin to disagree with me, but I suggest you try out what I've recommended and see if I'm correct. Opinions mean nothing if they don't match up to reality.

Hey Micah, I did what you suggested and went str Dex, and bought royal armor. Upon joining a level 51 game, I was 2 hit KO'd by a 51 bear. I played around and there isn't a difference. Any bear can still beckon stomp me.

51 bears are op bro. They have insane dodge and almost as much armor and health as a 56. They own everything so dying to them isn't something to worry about. I have seen some pro pure dex obedience birds that own bears and mages. Don't worry man, it just takes time learning what ranges to stay at, what combo is right for vsing which class, and which build is just right.

Root-repulse. If they're allowed to execute a whole beckon stomp combo, then make it so it's only by pure luck that they do so. Also, what bow are you using?

One other thing, some of the really noob bears will just put 6 beckon and 6 stomp. In that case, there's a brilliant strategy I discovered for defeating them. You literally wear pure damage/armor gear (minimal dodge) and then charge at them. Get as close as you can before they beckon. They'll beckon you way out of their own range and you can smoke them. It's hilarious when it works xD

Ultimately I've found that the best method for victory is wearing dodge gear and using blind-root-repulse. This way their hit is low, your dodge is high, and they have to beckon quickly before being kited. Even so, they'll snag you many times (op!) but more often than not, it will work like a charm.

hmmm, been hella long since i've played 56 bird, but keep at distance, also i'd recommend u to get 5 avian, this enables u to free urself from stuns, wich is very handy against bears, i'm sure that will help alot, and make sure to use blind and root wall first, their hit will be low, the dodge is debuffed, and rootwall does decrease someone's health, after that use break,shatter,blast. if bears manage to dodge ur rootwalls, use the normal root right after, also when a bear breaks ur root effect, use the other one for a maximum chance to kill and surive a bear, I hope this will help you.

I bought a royal helm and armor, and am using obed xbow. Ill try switching up my build a bit now, to work in 5 avian.

Don't listen to me, but there are also very good custom recurve birds out there. Granted, they are underpowered, but my 56 bear can die pretty easily sometimes to them.
Even against my 56 rhino they can do a lot of dmg :0

In the end you should only be beating bears about 1/3 times. Sadly, that's about as good as it gets. If the bear is a noob, about 1/2 times.

PvP is so teamed/bear dominant, that I'll probably just sell my gear a run back to PvE. Until they balance PvP that is.

Yeah pvp is in a state, for sure. I think that sounds like a good plan, mate. Or you can join me at 35 where birds smoke bears and lose to mages.
