Default the real world values of AL items (the value of plat)

guys, here's a little bit of calculations I've done.

a chest of plat (1700 plat) costs $54 on sale. That's about 3 cents per plat. Here is what some popular items in AL costs in terms of real life dollars:

    1 rev: $0.03
    opening 1 crate: $0.45
    opening 10 crates: $4.5
    opening 20 crates: $9.0
    opening 100 crates: $45
    25 plat vanity: $0.80
    50 plat vanity: $1.60
    250 plat mythic pet: $7.87

If you get a chest of plat that isn't on sale it will cost you $90. That's 5.3 cents per plat. Here is the real life dollar cost of those same purchases:

    1 rev: $0.053
    opening 1 crate: $0.80
    opening 10 crates: $8.00
    opening 20 crates: $16.00
    opening 100 crates: $80.00
    25 plat vanity: $1.32
    50 plat vanity: $2.64
    250 plat mythic pet: $13.23

STS lists the bag of plat (75 plat) as their most popular. On sale it costs $5.99. That's 8 cents per plat. Here's the same purchases:

    1 rev: $0.08
    opening 1 crate: $1.20
    opening 10 crates: $12.00
    opening 20 crates: $24.00
    opening 100 crates: $120.00
    25 plat vanity: $2.00
    50 plat vanity: $4.00
    250 plat mythic pet: $20.00

A bag of plat not on sale will cost $9.99. That's 13.3 cents per plat. Once again, same purchases:

    1 rev: $0.13
    opening 1 crate: $2.00
    opening 10 crates: $20.00
    opening 20 crates: $40.00
    opening 100 crates: $200.00
    25 plat vanity: $3.33
    50 plat vanity: $6.66
    250 plat mythic pet: $33.25

I've seen several threads where people are disappointed when they spend a lot of plat opening crates and don't have anything to show for it. I wanted to make this thread to put into perspective how much your plat is really worth and to show that it's best to 1) buy on sale if you can, and 2) the bigger the bundle the more value you will get. Personally, I feel that the vanities, revs and pets are great values. I'm not one to open crates but if you do please keep in mind how much it costs (in real world dollars) and don't spend more than you're comfortable with!

It's honestly pretty cheap. When I was young it cost 25-50 cents per life to play any arcade machine. It was easy to blow through $10-$20 in an afternoon of playing. I dont even want to talk about buying the $70-$80 games for a home console. If only the young ones knew how good they have it.

If you buy 2 $55 bundles that is 3400 Plat which lasts you for quite a while that is IF you do not open crates.

crates are def the money maker. opening 20 crates costs more than a mythic pet. I should have calculated luck elixirs too. Although I doubt they'll sell that many luck elixirs now since u basically get one boss in 30 min. haha.

A movie costs from $8 to $25 a person. Skip a movie, open 20 crates.
40 crates if you usually pay on the high end of movie costs.

If you usually go with someone, then skip a movie, open 40 crates.
80 if you usually pay on the high end of movie costs.

If you buy popcorn, etc., open 20-40 more crates. For 2 persons, open 40-80 crates.

    Muhahahahaha.

Very nice guide this should be a sticky !!!!! Also keep in mind that when the double payout for offers is live if u do some of the biggest paying offers you can get plat even cheaper than if you bought the biggest plat bundle while on sale!!!

Example: Ive only spent real money on al one time. I did a few offers during double offer payout (I believe kobo offer, Godaddy offer and maybe 1 or 2 more i cant remember) I received enough platinum from these offers to open roughly 300 locked crates (which is what i did) for a mere 20 dollars US.

And here I thought I was gonna get a lecture on blowing plats on lockeds and what not.

So. For 12 cents on the cheap end you get 30 minutes of luck. And a 1hr combo is a great value at $1.05.

Its pretty easy to see how far $1 can go when you spend time playing something you enjoy.

The nature of gaming has changed from 30 years ago where a quarter bought you 3 lives and maybe 5 minutes of gameplay if you were lucky. And the graphics... And today u can play a full fledged, in depth game for free, with the option to spend money to speed your progress (and maybe get lucky). There are thousands of free to play games on the markets with in app purchases, but there are only a select few that can match what sts has done with their Legends based titles.
