Pleasant day!

I try to purchase platinum through my debit card. When I register and to make wallet, the message appear that my card is not valid though theres a message saying "enter your credit card or debit card" which I did to enter my debit card number but it keeps looking credit card.
My question is, debit card is allowed to purchase paltinum or no?
