my 18th birthday is coming up soon and i was considering getting an iphone or an i pad .. i currently play on a first gen itouch and the game runs perfectly ! but is there any difference in game play on the iphone or i pad

Definitely wait for the iPhone 4G, simply because it's going to be amazing. iPad is pretty cool, but don't make your entire hardware choice based on one game, even as epic as PL is.

This is why you should wait.

All of the past iPhone revisions have come out "June-ish". You will want to wait and get the new one or an older model (3GS) at a lower price.

On the iPad, Pocket Legends is a completely different game. I play on my phone while commuting (no I'm not driving!!), but I can't even see the amazing graphics!

If you have a choice- get the iPad.

The visual quality is better on the iPad in my opinion, but performance will be better on the 4G, and you'll be able to do more things with it in more places. (phone, pictures, video, etc). The new phone is probably a more practical choice, but you've really got to play PL on the iPad at some point. I mostly play on an iPhone 3G (waiting for 4g), but when I play at night it's usually on the iPad.
