question about elixer kits and plat purchase elixers

I have a question,

When the plat xp elixer kits say "50%" would that mean that if in WT4 I earn 400xp (probably not true about 400..) then when i use the xp kit, would i get 800xp per run? Or 600 (because 50% of 400 = 200; 400+200= 600)

100% is double, 50% is 1.5x

You would get 50% of the principal on top of it.

A full party average WT4 run should yield you about 300XP, with 50% XP Elixir, you're looking at 450XP.
