Hey guys,

We are excited to announce a new and ongoing event in Enigmatic:

The Enigmatic Lottery!!

Mith, Saku, and myself will be accepting entries beginning right away.

5,000 gold will get you one entry into the lottery.
Your ign will be listed along with all the other entries in the Random.org list randomizer.
If your name comes up, you win!!

I will list the names and "draw" the winner on Saturday mornings. (my Saturday, USA central time)
We will impose a limit of 10 entries per player (not per ign). That means your name goes into the list 10 times.
This is to limit the risk one player may assume, as this is a form of gambling.
It is also to prevent one player from funding the entire prize pool and lose any benefit of winning.

That's it, please feel free to play, but there is no obligation.

For now, we will limit it to ten times per person, not 10 times per toon.
It really makes no difference how many different names you use.
If it runs smoothly for a few weeks, we may increase number of entries and/or amount per entry
I ask that you please respect the limits and don't make us play guessing games with alts.
I assure you my patience for that is very limited.
I'd hate to ban someone for not following the rules.

The officers are keeping track of who is throwing in gold nicely. Pretty fun to throw in a small amount for a chance to spin the wheel of luck for extra pocket change!

Prize pool is 1m now and still increasing. I think next time we should randomize more than once. Maybe 500k - 1m/random.
Ex: prize pool from 0 - 995k => 1 random
from 1m - 1.495m => 2
from 1.5m - 1.995m => 3
...
If prize pool is 1.8m and your name comes up twice, you will win 1.2m.

I would love to see more than 1 winner, even if smaller, though still good, pots. Its good to see more winners.

I agree with this.
Really for a first run its gone pretty well.
We welcome ideas to make this a better concept.
The point is to keep everyone interested and excited, multiple winners could only help that.
However, at 5k per entry, its a pretty good return without having risked much.
Anyone can make 50k pretty quickly farming crates. If you get 5 or 6 crates, you've paid for the elixir and maximum number of entries.

Like Tata said, we werent sure how well received it would be, so this the beta for our lottery.
Now that we see what is possible, I think it can only get better.
