It was originally said that the fossil would be a rare drop from the arena, and how we're putting it in crates... I'd personally prefer the fossil to drop as a standalone rare item for one's 4th boss, adds to the excitement of the run, instead of a grind and opening/selling the chests afterwards. Otherwise, this will turn into the Elite Dragon Chests, and let's face it, who buys those up and opens them to loot a shard...
Considering it was originally said to be a standalone rare drop (showing the idea was there) I was wondering why the adoption of another set of crates for the arena was the final choice.

Purple was/is known as a color of royalty. Dyed fabrics were a luxury item and it took red and blue dye to make purple. The dyeing process took konger than other colors to achieve the rich color offered in the vanities.
