regarding restoring uller's helm quest shards

It could be a silly question ;$ but just asking do i need to wear mythic armor to get shards or its random? i got 2 out 16 in 2 runs with the armor and without none i have put my restored mythic armor to upgrade so ... please no trolling this the first time i am doing this quest so .. if u know the answer please reply if not no spamming my thread thank you

You dont need to wear the armor you just need to start the quest... the gear doesnt matter.
