What is the best for warrior for pve DMG or DPs?

Im currently focusing In DMG .
But my friend told me that DMG is for PvP. I'm a pve type of player, I'm focusing in farming elite maps. I need some suggestions for warrior build.

I suppose you are talking about legendary weapon (no mythic nor arcane), so there are 2 possibility:
-Entombed Hammers
-Magma Claymores

Hammers have more normal dmg than Claymores, however Hammers have less skills dmg than Claymores.
So more dmg skills you use, Claymores are more efficient, because more skill dmg.
And paradoxly less dmg skills you use, Claymores are more efficient because of highter dps.
Claymores has better proc ability (add str, armor and fire dmg aura).
All in all, take Claymore for whatever situation

Dang... another "i wanna be a damage dealing tank" thread. yawns

If you have ever done any research in these forums, you will know that is an oxymoron. You need to play your role. If you wanna PVe then be a tank. Tanks dont focus on DMG/DPS. Focus on STR, HP, and Armor only. Now if you wanna be a PVp killing machine, then you need to focus on more of a dmg/dps dealing role, where some of the PVe stats arent that necessary.
Theres nothing worse in AL than a Tank trying to kill stuff. All you do is take away from your party. Leave the killing to the rogues and mages and just concentrate on keeping aggro. These are just my 2c

can't agree with samaeldavisjr post above. Too many tank focus on dmg (in pve too), and in reality when they play in party, the mage will turn into tank, your party will die a lot.

With a mage who knows how to stun and freeze, tank job is pretty easy, just shield the mage.
Unless you are an arcane warrior, don't go for damage route.
Save yourself pots and be a real tank.

For farming elites:
get 2h weapon, the wall of potency is a great stun machine.
get jugg, shield, windmill, horn with shield upgrade.
DMG is a better measure for aggro purpose than DPS.

The OP said hes "farming elite maps" so pvp isnt really topic here. But agai, if you wanna Pve then be a tank with high armor, str, hp. nuff sed

If you're running elite maps, it would be good to go with as much hp and armour as you can get. Pay no heed to damage, that can be settled by rogues and mages. You are called tanks for a reason . No matter how much dmg you get, you still won't outdamage the rest of the classes so....yea it's best to focus on the warrior's niche

Dmg > Dps imo. Unless the weapon gives like +10 dmg and loses out on 70 Dps or something.
Dps is still important because it determines how fast you can stun by charging autoattack and stuff

For PVE - damage, PVP - dps.

Get a mythic aegis. You can tank because stats are good and the proc will level mobs.

Best of both worlds. Only weakness with this weapon is solo boss fights.

Save your gold and spend on good gear.

Save for a saw 41 DPS rule since if u choose dmg u become a clawing snail
