Mali was the first pet I bought my rouge but her lack of any damage buff left her mainly unused and a purchase I regretted.

Malison was my number one choice pet for a long time. I still prefer her (or him lol?) to the likes of Kettle and Loki in tombs/Hauntlet for example, due to the nice aoe passive and the higher survivability/lower pot usage stemming from both her happiness bonus and arcane ability.

Wrathjaw is a nice cheap pet too.

Wrathjaw and crawly, malison is good for gang bangs from mobs due to high dodge. Frost is good too for starters since it has good mana boost and slow (if you're evading mobs using bow).
