That would work if my ipod would actually open. It's just a blank screen... no buttons...

No offense, but that was probably one of the worst "how to" videos that I have ever seen The guy says "um" around 28903872 times.

Anyway! Lady, this happened to me once also. I just happened to be getting a new Ipod in a couple of days, so I didn't really worry about it.

Connect it to your PC or Mac and on iTunes hit restore.

I got it. The device wasn't dead all the way. I took it off the charger and let it die completely. Now it's charging.

oh i think i know whats wrong. over the summer i was using my ipod and it randomly stopped and there was a ring in the middle. i sent it to apple and they just ended up sending me a new ipod, ( your springboard probally crashed)
