In desperate need of a hairstyle

Hey guys! I don't get on here often, but I just thought why not share a dilemma that I am having right now. So, I'm 17 years old & a Senior in high-school. Every day, I wake up, get a shower, and just leave my hair in the wild mess that ensues. Here are some pictures of me to clarify: (Don't laugh :P)

 

Okay, you can laugh at this one. I was attempting to take a picture of a friend, but the front facing camera caught me off-guard.

Okay, so now you see what a wild mess my hair is on a normal day-to-day basis. Work AND school. I mean, it's not like it's held me down in terms of having relationships or getting jobs, but I do think it's time I start to take care of my hair. Doesn't it also have feelings?

My problem is: I have no idea where to start in terms of what to do with my hair. Would my hair up look better, or down? Here's a hairstyle that I think doesn't look too shabby:

 

What do you peers think? Would that fit my face?

Also, if you know a decent hair style that I should try out, tell me! If it doesn't work out, well, hair grows back.

Well, I was going to shave, but it's Movember so...

And yeah, that's the picture I plan on showing the stylist person. Hopefully they can do some magic on my hair and teach me how to get it looking like that.

Grow out some more stubble on your chin through your sides more like the picture, as your current moustache doesnt really fit well with those styles
