It depends on what you are looking for in a phone.

The LG G3 surpasses the Galaxy S5 in terms of hardware (3GB of RAM is quite amazing compared to Samsung's 2GB). The battery is also better, having 3,000 mAh compared to Samsung's 2,800mAh, allowing for a huge difference in stand-by time (i forgot the specifics). The G3 is also slightly bigger than the S5, and the screen has a higher resolution as well.

The Samsung Galaxy S5, however, has a much better camera than the G3. The S5 dishes out a very decent 16 MP camera as opposed to the G3's 13 MP camera. The S5 also boasts a lot more sensors than the G3, including a Gyroscope, Pedometer, Hall, Fingerprint ID, Gesture, Barometer, Step detector, and Step counter.

They both have the same Quad core, 2500 MHz, Krait 400 processor, and everything else is very similar.

So, if you want a phone for its hardware and display, get the G3. If you want a phone for its camera, software, and to be a show-off, get the S5.

That's a pretty naïve assumption. In technology, it either is or it isn't. It's fact, not philosophy. I based my information solely by observing the phones' system specifications. Sure you can do your own research, but you wont find anything different than what i previously stated. Don't call me "dum" for providing information backed by facts.

I right tho bc your initial post confirmed what I said about people here having no idea what they're talking about.

But it's okay. As the forum elder I shall forgive your ignorance as you are a newcomer!

Ahh, but news flash - i do know what i'm talking about, thank you. And i assume you are referring to the fact that you have no idea what you're talking about?

And don't flatter yourself. Time shows naught what wisdom shows character. And i see you have neither.

The averages are the exact same. By saying the battery of LG G3 is far better, you are exaggerating. Also, who actually cares about stand by time? You charge the phone 100%, turn it on, have brightness all the way down, and do nothing else with the phone to give it that long of a time.

I know you were correct about the mAh, but you were incorrect in the following. Larger battery doesn't directly mean better battery life. There are several other variables.

Anyone with a few brain cells could look up specs and spit them back out. Doesn't mean you have any idea what you're talking about.
