Only they send a PM to devs or mods and they change the name, but if you talk of change of name in game - yes they pay 30 plat for it

I think you mean that people change their common names like "hridtisyg" to already in use rare ones like "god" don't you?
Well it's impossible, those players with rare names like "Zeus", "Geek", "Jarl" etc.. are almost always old players that installed AL in the first days or weeks it appeared and got this rare names... Sometimes, they buy names with gold from other players, a very risky way to trade, something I strongly don't recommend.

Agreed!!! They said they don't. When i gave them some ign example, they said they are not done recently. They just were kind of rude and said they won't do it for me. Iam like nvm -.-
Buying is the only way... Yes it's not seen upon by the devs as a good thing but worth it!
Fake sold his name, he offered it to me for 15mill so I presume he sold to someone else.
It's either players that reserved their names before the release of AL (from SL, PL or DL) or players that have created a random character with the name to keep, and rename their main character whenever they wish.
