HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THOSE in the U.S! Note that I decided to post this thread right on midnight, the first second of 2015! Anyway, for fun and learning, here are a few events that happened on Jan 1st, or New Year's day!

404 AD- Final gladiator competition in Rome!

1804- Haiti gains independance from France!

1852- FIRST public bath in US! In NYC!

1899- Cuba is liberated from Spain by USA!

1945- France joins the UN( United Nations!)

Most of them are about the USA, because I don't really think many of these events were super important.
