41 or 40?

i dont know what to do so should i like go 41 then farm gold for mythic OR stay at 40 earn gold for mythic then level up?

Level up to 41 fast so you would have better chances in finding farming parties and if you plan on farming the harder maps of the game (Planar Tombs/Arena).

Buy mythics if you want to but I would not suggest buying the mythic helm and armor at this point because there are cheaper alternatives out there though lacking a tad bit in damage and crit like the Icescale of Brutality Set.

Level up to 41 than farm

I'd suggest you level up to level 41 first- after that you can focus on farming.
It's easier to find people to run Elites with you if you're level 41. Trust me.
'Cause most people (level 41) will just get out from arena (for example) when they see there's level 40 in it.
Not just in arena, but other elites maps too

I went to kraken mines. Farmed locks and leveled fairly quickly. No elixirs. In about 2 days you can make well over 300k by this method
