Im not saying this is a scam , im just commenting on the post above this. He doesnt need to promote his channel by using his gold at all. Since this competition chooses a random winner , he cud just make a fake youtube account and character to enter his contest. Then he cud declare his character as the winner (nobody would be able to know the truth) The thing is tho , if he gets donations , then hes just making profits for advertising his own channel. I believe that counts as a scam , but im not saying that this contest is a scam.

You didn't mention that he was honest, or anything about him, so I was making sure people didn't start to assume that it may have been a scam by confirming that I know lecturing.
