Hey kali,

Ive heard that you are working on additional prize with sts. If they agree to fund this im sure the prize will be cool and worthwhile.

Soo I have a few possible prizes you could ask sts for:
1: a banner to represent players who complete all 4 weeks
2. a unique vanity
3. And this is asking a bit much prolly but perhaps winner guild could recieve maridos from sts?

Idk thats just few ideas ill come back if think more.

I did ask for a banner, and currently, the answer is a no.

A unique vanity would be cool, but only if unique. And, if STS doesn't have the Dev time to make a banner, they probably don't have time for a vanity either.

Problem would be who gets to open the egg?

At the end of the day, this is a contest for the masses. I have to trust that those who participate will do so fairly and honorably. And, for those that don't, shame on you for trying to ruin some good clean fun, for what, a few million gold that will end up going to the guildmaster anyway?

Have faith....cheating hasn't really ever been an issue in any of my events, and to be quite honest, I don't expect it to be one here either. Its not like I am giving out arcane items to the winners or anything.

I'm aware of the secret phrase thing. That's why I noted that the secret phrase had to be assumed to have been said in the screenshots at the beginning.

When it comes to the loot, and assuming that everyone knows what drops from each boss, players may still do mage sample pics 3 and 4.

I just pointed out some possibilities of what could happen. It's not something that is sure to happen during the event, but it is a possibility.

Cheaters will cheat when there's a window of opportunity. That's why we put up rules to begin with.

I just had to put it in this thread as it was for anything regarding the event.

Your decision in the end.

I appreciate the concern, and, much the way it is with IT security, you cannot stop cheating/hacking/etc. 100% of the time. The best you can do is put enough controls in place to discourage 90% from even tying, and give yourself opportunity to detect the 10% that actually attempt a breach.

The way this event and point system is structured, a few illegitimate SS won't have much (if any) impact on weekly or final standings, and the risk of being caught is punitive enough to affect the person and the guild that they are in, that it should provide enough disincentive, since most reputable GMs will kick the player as a result.

I am the eternal optimist and will just anticipate good, honest fun that keeps players engaged for a few weeks to come.

Ah ok ya they prolly dont have time with expansion coming but maybe they can.

Well if enigmatic got egg im sure candy and fade could have guild contest to reward it.

And I dont think thier will be problem with cheating. You can see more details in advanced view or photo program like photoshop. I know candy and fade reviewed some like this in ocd contest. Besides if someone were to cheat theyd risk being banned. Thats a risk I dont think many will take. And considering kali reputation I think most will have enough respect and courtesy not to cheat.

Few things:

* Don't worry about people cheating. It is more of a matter of having people submitting SS that adhere to the rules exactly, not intentionally trying to pull a fast one on Kali. However, his data tracker website will allow us to review ANY SS that come into question quickly and effectively.

* Right now the answer to the banner is no. We are working on it though! StS is extremely busy in their work for a new cap, so a banner for player-generated contest isn't high on priority. We understand 100%. If this decision changes you guys will be the first to know.

* This contest is built for endurance and to forge new friendships in the game. Run and have fun! Earn some loot, and work on missing APs.

* <Enigmatic> will be using this contest to award guild prizes on top of Kali's prizes!

* We will be adding more prizes for the community, this is being organized right now. Kali will update everyone!!!

* Spread the word, the more people who participate the more fun this will be.

Kalizzaa,

What if I already have the AP's for Brakenridge and Ydra, does that mean if I run, that I won't get any points ?

How would you know if someone just got the AP ?

So if I run these maps a million times I'll get points for all those runs ? Or do I run them once ?

Completion of one map (regardless of whether you need the AP or not) equals one point (two for tanks). You can run the same map over and over if you choose, so you can earn more points.

Completion of every map in the weekly challenge gets you a one-time bonus of 100 points.

Basically you're given a week to run an elite map as many times as you can ? The more you run the more points you get ?

Correct, but don't forget to get the weekly bonus. If you don't, you will need to get 100 runs (50 for tanks) to make up for the points that were lost!
