Next expansion they should make it so that its necessary for people to go out of town and actually kill mobs.

Ah excuse me, that is an incorrect and insulting assumption to make. I've never bought plat before, I'm not a lock popper, I farm til my fingers bleed. I'd like to get a mythic pet and my guess is that the upcoming mythic pet will be the best in game, which will also be plat-exclusive. So, how else am I to acquire it BUT with plat? There are limited free plat offers in my country and I've done almost all of them already. And if I am going to make my first ever plat purchase, of course I want to get the most bang for my buck.

You must be proud of your accomplishments in this game.
Perhaps s/he is proud of their accomplishments in real life which enable him/her to buy this amount of plat. Are you honestly saying that if you could afford it, you wouldn't? And if not, why is your personal choice not to buy plat so much more valid than his/her decision to buy plat?
My understanding is that most players end up purchasing plat at some point. After all, STS doesn't run on good feelings, it takes money to pay the wages for the people that develop and maintain the game. So, in a way, free players should be grateful to plat buyers who actually are keeping the whole she-bang going, the game that you enjoy playing for absolutely nothing? Just a thought.
25k plat sounds a bit too extreme. Thats rougly $1500. Usally people would think twice before spending that kind of money on a game. But whatever floats his/her boat I suppose. We just dont need any more threads about people complaining that they got nothing from locks after opening 3000 crates.
I agree, opening locks is a complete gamble and no-one should complain if they get nothing from them!
