Treasure chest question!

I couldn't find the answer to this on the forum or in the play guide. Does the person who opens the treasure chest get all the gold from that chest? I always feel bad when I auto hit those chests before others have a chance to get a share. Especially when I've just joined a game.

All players get the same amount of gold/potions when opening a chest.
