frozen nightmares

Seriously, reccomended level 30-35? I've been spending a fair bit of time in AO1 (which I can now do on my own) and AO2 in groups and just decided to go back and do the frozen nightmares pelts and snowballs quests. How come it is so much harder than the alien maps if it's meant to be for level 30??? I just went there on my bear along with a level 52 mage in group and we lasted barely two minutes. Got a group together and cleared the first map with a lot of effort and brute force but it's a bit OTT.

Anyone offer any advice on tactics for getting through these maps? Or is it a case of 'get better armour lol'

frozen nightmares it an "elite" dungeon, therefore it is not comparible to the other 30-35 maps. i suggest you level up higher to around 45+ or just become more xperienced. i myself had troubles there

I don't mind the difficulty of the map if it is going to be worthwhile. But the only thing worthwhile is the quest reward which would be very useful at level 30 but not at level 45... or even 40! No exp there and no particularly good items to be gained. Surely it should at least be labelled as a 45-50 map and give exp as appropriate...

i guess but theres alien oasis for that. this map is mainly for the two quests and the rare loot, which many high level players wish to acquire for their accounts and quest logs so i see from your POV but another also

its same as shadow caves... when ur level 65 and above they will be easy too

Is the loot really that worthwhile? What should I expect to find?

i never said the loot was worthwile there. and no it isnt really. the only worthwhile items there are quest items which take lods of time/money(pots)/experience

Iceberg hatchet seems worthwhile since its super stromg at its level but i buy them

thats one loot item...thats going for maybe 10k. otherwise the loot is worthless and it might be more fun clicking the buy item button in shop then farming for them

I wouldn't be so sure. While "worthless" is kindda subjective, the shivering and brain-freeze items go for 30k+.

Doesn't this depend on the player? It's playable by level 30s now. I personally think its rewarding to take my level 34 w/ a level 30s group and do all the FN levels. And no, other than the king, it's not that hard. At the end, we at least know we can play our characters.

For people who do not like challenges, stay away from the elite dungeons.

yes touche,but he asked for a suggestion and i gave my input. and the fact that he needs to lnow details about campaigns and what not(not pun intended) means that he maybe isnt the most experienced player and still has much more to learn, so it might be a challenge ya know?

I'm definately inexperienced at this game I've only been playing a few weeks. Got to grips with most of the basics now. I do think it's far easier to level up than in other MMOs but that's a different topic altogether :-p

I could sit and spend a few days reading guides on everything and know everything there is to know and then another few days power levelling to 55 but where's the fun in that. It's a game not a book! Guides are for lazy people. I'd rather go out and figure it all out myself over time and make a thread like this for the rare occasions where I get stuck or want some advice. It's a good game with plenty of variety of places to explore and items to look for, why waste that by reading a guide and being power levelled?

Anyway I'm going off topic on my own topic haha. Thanks for all the responses guys
