Resisting the Call of Hugthulu, or quick killing for dummies
There is a new boss in town. You reach him through Cupid's Portal
He's pretty easy if you've been around Arlor a few times.
Since the portal appears in Windmoore, however, new players may not be aware of the dynamics of Arcane Legends. The first time you enter the portal, you'll likely see this:
A random party.
Now if you are like me here (Level 2), you'll be the lower level of the party that's higher level (Level 4 in this case) than you. The higher level determines the level of the boss. In this case, the new Level 1 warrior can barely dent the monster.
Alternatively, you might be the undergeared high level with a full party but no support, since everyone else is much lower than you.
If you find yourself in this scenario, you do one of 3 things: 1. Re-enter the portal until you find someone able to kill the boss easily; 2. Find or make a party; or 3. Solo. If you have good gear, soloing will probably be the easiest option.
At some point, the boss gets a shield (blue white glowing sphere around him) -- at about 1/3 health. You won't be able to damage him. When this happens, drag him to the glowing light at the upper right of the picture. I guess it's a floor portal...
The shield will disppear and you can kill him. Actually he might die just from losing his shield...

Unfortunately, for me, this one contained the Letter "V". Oh well, time to collect more!
