<Enigmatic> really shined in this event, sweeping the number one guild position every week. They also had, by far, the strongest participation of any guild:

Player Payouts
56 different players have won gold and/or Grimm eggs based on their participation. Many of these names are well-recognized elite PvE players; however, I was pleasantly surprised by the strong showing by many other players that are not yet household names.

Below is the payouts to these players. I sorted this list by player name, to make it easier to locate names:




Randomly Selected Prizes
5 random players of each class (15 in total) were randomly selected to receive 500,000 gold each. To choose the players, I created a spreadsheet with players of each class sorted by name. Next, I used a random number generator (Random.org) to choose a number:

To choose the winners of the 50 Ankh kits, I was asked to award to players that otherwise would not have won a prize in this event. To do this, I took the list of players and filtered out those that had won the vanity or a weekly prize. Then, I used a SQL hack to generate psuedo-randomized results (i.e., the ORDER BY NewID() hack).

To say, events like these are truly amazing to be seen...PvE reviving looks glorious, rather than PvP literally pinging here @ endgame. To me, i saw that some, or even the slightlest spark ignited a good warm flame. During the beginning of this contest the fate seemed bleak( i mean the prizes), but with the ending suspense it did create a drama..somewhat like. But the arlor vanities were a good prize. Personally, STS should really make events like PvE, rather than PvP - pvp isnt going anywhere, and PvE is the way to get gold too. It was lovely and amazing to see PvE come alive. The donations were also a pillar of this contest, lets not forget those people donating millions of gold!

Also, If i stay long enough here and another contest kicks in, I'd be sure to throw some more donations!

To me what made Tour of Arlor special is the fact that there are many, including myself, who did not do it for the prize money, or the loot from the maps. Those things are there, yes, but are just icing on the cake. It's like the Tarlok's event of 2013, when, sure there were shiny things to win, but the true fun lay not in the exclusive solitary grinding to be on leaderboard, but in a communal effort, in playing together. Moreover we got to actually play the content, running on maps, instead of mooching in cities getting bored. If STS can somehow incorporate these qualities--cooperation, shared goal, incentive to run Arlor maps, not just event maps--in their events I'm sure many would enjoy them more.

I'm all out of thanks, Kali. You spoke on a thread about Tour of Arlor being your magnum opus. It is indeed a masterpiece.

We as a guild had a great time running the contest, got a lot of aps, made a lot of new friends and hopefully improved game play. The concept of this elite contest just shows STS the way forward to create and retain interest in game. I would urge any develpers/mods to consider this as basis of a periodic contest. we all can pay a nominal entry fee to make up a grand pot. The presnt LB system can surely use this as an addition.
