Recently the act of calling others out as new generation sprung out of no where. Now I know I might not be the best pvper out there since my kiting is thrash and I'm inactive many times

Either way though when exactly did the start of new gen come out.
If you've noticed no one whose actually played the game within a 2-4 year period says that
It's weird to see a player who is actually new call someone new gen.
The funny part is now a days those calling new gen are for example a mage or bear (hiding/rejoin) against classes like my Fox when they're higher level....
You can't say your old if you have no proof

Yep. The whole point of PvP today is to feel a superior ego, or to feel that oneself has more talent or skill than others. Hence, the usage of whatever excuse, insult, complaint or derogatory term to debase others based on OP, newer/less experience, etc. in an effort to elevate oneself. This applies to all players, old and NEW - and that's why so many new players say it, as they're desperate to find confirmation that they're "good". You notice a lot of older players don't say "new gen" as they have a guild and lots of prior experience to PROVE to themselves that they are indeed skilled.
It just so happens that "new gen" is the current trend in this concept...the modern analog of the past "cry", "hunted", and way back, during primordial PL time, "noob".

For one I call no one new gen
You could literally just start the game but I wouldn't. I can't call someone new gen because then I'd have to call the next person over the same. If I were to call one a name then I'd have to speak truthfully to all so I promise I may likely didn't call you a new gen

I find it annoying when a level 20 rhino with hammy rushes you then calls you new gen. I ask him to pull out his 3 year shield and he shuts up after that.
