pinks and purples... purples?

im sure im not the only person who thinks this but is purple in the item rarity scale really blue?

You may have protanopia, which is a type of dichromacy that causes purple and shades of purple to be indistinguishable from blue. There is less sensitivity to the color red and since purple is derived from red and blue wavelengths, you don't see the red aspect in the color purple.

Looks purple on my phone rather than blue.

Baby blue should be the new pink hehe maybe another category of items pinks would be the like common pinks on AO3 and baby blue the premium.

Those are vanities my friend I'd probably cry if I had any form of colorblindness. I'd NEVER get a job in illustration.

On my Xoom, it absolutely is blue. However, when I do a screen shot and take a peek at the color I see that it's 173 red, 150 green, 255 blue. And it looks pinkish blue -- not violet, obviously (there's green) but definitely no longer blue. It also is the same color as I see in screen grabs elsewhere on the forums. For kicks, I decided to take a photo with my iPhone to see what it would look like on the computer... most of the red is now gone and there's more green.

Here's a picture on the left and a screen shot on the right. Same device. Very obvious color shift, though.

In all seriousness, yeah the left side IS very blue...wonder what's causing the discrepancy in color.

Is is based on how your screen displays colors? Perhaps that device simply has the red turned down.
