Consignment Store Bidding System

I'm sure every arcane legends player has come been in a position when they have an item which just isn't selling and they just really want to get rid of it, while still getting their money's worth. So they list it at the consignment store and hope that someone discovers it. The problem is, is that people who see your item may not be willing to pay that much either because, well it's just too expensive, or, because someone has undercut your item by 1 gold.

What i am suggesting, is that STS creates a system which allows players to make an offer (no matter how ridiculously low) on an item listed in the consignment store. Of course, the seller can list a reserve so they don't recieve notifications until this reserve has been met, but the buyer isn't made aware of what this reserve is. The seller is then given the option to decline or accept the offer made on their item. The bidder will be made aware what the best current bid is.
This gives the buyer the ability to possibly pick up a bargain (should the seller accept), but also gives the seller the ability to sell an item without having to massively inconvenience themselves by constantly spamming the same message over paradise pier and expedition camp.

Yes, there is a few flaws, such as how can you guarantee the buyer will have the gold in their account should their offer be accepted; My suggestion for this, is that the money be temporarily removed from their available gold, and put into a new section named "pending gold" or words to that effect. This means this gold is no longer available to be used until their offer has either been accepted, outbid or declined, in which case the buyer would either recieve their gold or item.

In summary, create a system which gives the buyers an opportunity to say "well i won't pay that much, but i will pay this much" without the hassle of having to contact a player, and without the seller having to spam "selling ..... Pm offer". Thoughts?

Too complicated and seller has tomuch control . Just add on bid timer , you can choose 12hour to 3 day highest bid wins.

I disagree with this, say someone sets a Nekro and only a few people discover it...say it was accidentally set for 12 hours and people were bidding ridiculously low...that poor soul has just lost a nekro for maybe less than 5m

Many other games have a minimum list price and a buy now price. People can bid on the item until the auction ends or choose to buy now. I would totally like to see this. That way you don't post an item and someone undercuts it by 1 gold a few mins later.

The filtering system could use a rehash as well. We should be able to search for all mythic items, etc. from every category under one filter. As it stands you only see the items for the specific category of item you have selected. Instead of the categories being displayed separately it could all be under one category and you can check off the boxes you wish to search from. Item type is one category, class type another, rarity, level(type in range) and bid price(type in price).

I agree with the majority of the idea, however other players have made a very good point in that the system is too complicated.. A simple bidding system would be better in my opinion! Such as the one in MMOs like world of warcraft.

This is good, we can have 3-5 bid slot then bidders will place their bid.

Then the seller would just click a bid and accept the gold.

Then the transfer would be done and the item can be collected on the "complete" tab by the chosen bidder.

Other bidder can get their gold back via the "conplete" tab also.

The seller can of course set the value and the minimum bid allowed - to avoid extreme lowballers and trolls placing 100 on a 5m item.

Duration of the bid can be the same as the one CS is using.

I wonder if this can be ahieved by AL game engine? Or do we need to overhaul CS now? Nonetheless this is a neat feature.

a simple system with reserve and buy now price would be amazing. bidders gold would be held until they are successful in which case they get the item or if the bid is unsuccessful the gold is returned. auction already holds gold (after item is sold but before buyer collects gold) so shouldnt be too hard to implement?

A bidding option would be nice, but NO reserve. If you decide to put your item for auction, then it should be a true auction.

This will never happen. Sts wants you to stay in town showting you are buying/selling this or that item so that al will seem like an awesome crowded game.
