Have any of devs have given proper explanation for this change? Least i can't think for one and not found one.

Devs have said they are discussing on making some elixirs for gold again, we don't know which elixirs or how much though.

They've also told us about persistent elixirs, which last through levels, deaths, portals.

Buying elixirs with plats is a good idea, but 15 plats for 1 is just a rip-off!
They either increase the quantity with the same amount of plats, or reduce the price. Currently no one is going to use them.
