Really need help deciding on what battle mage should be: STR or DEX

Ok so im lvl 26 now and my INT is 125 i think that is way to high for my lvl and you need it at around lvl 45 or 50 i hear so my question is what should i train now to become a battle mage? STR or DEX i really need help deciding which one is better for the armor and weapons but can still have some good mana regain since mages need and some health regain also. Basically which stat would give me better results in defence while still keeping a good mage offense.

There are dozens threads discussing this issue (you can search for more info), but generally you will want to focus on strength for more defense (armor and dodge), or on dex for more offense (damage/dps, hit and crit). Note that focusing on int will give you more overall offense (spell damage).

One thing I would suggest is do NOT focus on all 3. A pure int mage (which is about where you are right now) will do more overall damage than any other build, but if you do split, you should pick either strength (paladin) or dex (dex mage, or what I call a bowmage).

Paladins have lower spell power (esp heal) and are usually melee characters, but have very high survivability. Dex mages also have a weaker heal and less consistent damage, but have high hit % and very high burst damage.

EDIT: Also, you may want to wait until lvl 45 to make a switch. There is really good multi-classing eq at that level and it is harder to play as a multiclass before then.

Str if u want to live longer or dex if you want more crit damage. Or just full int if u want low survivablility but crazy damage.
