Is threat level an individual thing?

I'm not exactly new any more but I've never really thought about this particular question before. And I didn't see this answered when I searched around.

The threat level I see next to mob health bars -- is that the color it is for only me or for the whole group?

I ask this because I was curious if a high level character joining a party of low levels messes up their experience. Obviously the high level player is gonna see gray threat levels=no experience on the mobs.

So, is the color always individualized based on your level compared to the mob?

This is tricky. The short answer is yes, the threat level is individual, so you can see a red while a higher level can see a gray. The tricky part is there are times when the level of other players can change the threat level you see, and it can also change based on the number of mobs left on a level.

If you are higher, then you will definitely not decrease it, and in some cases you can actually increase it.

sidenote. Yes. Having 4-5 members in your party increases xp by 1.3X
