I own a character called Poseidon. Apollo and Bodyguardz as well. Can't reserve those when they are already taken .

In online games, your name is your identity... What if someone made an account in Blackstar before they could with the same name that they had in Pocket Legends and thereby stole their identity!

I'm writing today to let you know that we heard you. A system that allows Pocket Legends players to reserve character names for Blackstar will be coming in the near future.

Actually, if you had bothered to look, the question had been asked several times since the announcement of Blackstar's tentative release date. I've seen people ask repeatedly on scattered threads and I'm sure there were more.

I am glad that I will be able to reserve some of my PL characters.
I also hope that, when B* comes out, a few names I can't get from PL are available. Crossing my fingers!

No expiration of names has been confirmed: Guess it makes sense in case someone is away for a number of months or paid for their names etc and also database management maybe?

You'll only be able to reserve the names of your existing characters. We do not expire other names or accounts due to inactivity.

So STS by putting the name system in PL actually kills 2 birds with one stone:

Bird 1: Ppl can check names in game (no need to remember them off-line!).
Bird 2: Active PL players will reserve their names sooner.

Oops, my bad. When i googled it and read some reviews i didn't see that it was by the same company.

In hindsight, i guess it's bad to pick names containing the word "bear", "bird", or related terms.

Whoa that's a big change from what Sam said originally. Totally messes up people who are playing their second, third, or forth, or etc choice for a name because the one they want was taken by somebody who played for 5 minutes ages ago and then quit.

Please, would it be possible to reconsider this decision? People who are never coming back and locked down cool names is just wrong.

It does sound like maybe the name databases would be separate though, so a name used in PL by a quit player would still be first come first serve in BS but just unreservable by others. Probably still possible for people to take in BS names used in PL on quit accounts this way, but not names on reserve from PL. Hey what's to stop would be impostors from effectively stealing names used in PL but not reserved on BS by just getting the client sooner? Evil.
