Get a few 55s.
For your level, Keeper runs are the best to continuously grind. With a group of course. Soon, they're going to update elixirs and improve the way you can purchase them. There are elixirs under the platinum shop menus which provide additional exp with each kill. The problem with this in the past was that new players leveled up too quickly and didn't even know how to use their characters.

I think the best way to level is in a group. Don't make pass games and invite a level 55/56, because it'll be too slow. So just join a game, put your filter on the area you want to play. There you can see how far the game is and how many players are in the game.
Progression to 57? Well I figured the first step to 57 is being 56, so my sig shows that first step
