What happened to the gem crafting system?

I recently came back from a very long break yesterday and I noticed there aren't anymore fire gems.

Instead there's this jewel system. It looks alright.

But I haven't picked up any new fire essences since playing.

Also what are these crafting proces in auc??? 70k for Fire Gems, weak versions these new jewels also cost 70k a pop, WHAT?

Does essences not drop anymore? Is that why these are so expensive?

Can these jewels become grand?

WHAT? How does this save anyone money? These jewels cost exorbitant amounts of gold. These jewels would be better if they were mass produced by the playerbase like gems were.

This new crafting sucks honestly, these jewels look like rich-player-exclusive items.

I dunno I've only been here for like a day and I don't know what's happened.

Thanks for explaining this to me. Basically the new jewel system is trash. The old fire/ice/blood system wasn't even bad or needed to be fixed.

I wish they'd let us craft combo jewels, adding two together, like fury and chaos, to get a boost in damage and strength. Like Tarlock gems.

I was wondering abt this too. Also came back after a very long break. I could figure most of this, but wasnt sure abt the essences if they drop or not. So no more of them... Well I still have some gems left, even the Tarlok ones

me too I logged in after a year. but will not play though as war still sucks.that's the main reason I quit AL. but prices are so drastic low on arcane stuffs.
I quit AL when arcane bling costed 80m+, nekro 100m+ .now these are below 2m lol.
still not gonna play.
I really like the lvl16 and lvl21 cap. those were the best AL days.
and tarlok event was awesme too.
but war still sucks.

Jewel system is too much waste take forever and even now I can't reach noble
