    Default Custom Help

    Hi everyone,

Could I get opinions from those who have the Custom set?

I was wondering if it would be easier/more worth it to craft my own customised set instead of buying.

I have a full RR Bow set that I use on my bear for bosses. I would like to have a decent h/s while fighting boss as I get aggro most of the time.

I have enough money to buy up the recipes. But not enough to buy custom set.

My h/s and m/s for my tank and boss setup:
    Tank- 29 h/s, 6 m/s
    Boss- 9 h/s, 4 m/s
    I actually don't like kimchi.

Hmm. Custom set is only an average for me, for birds. but IF you do go DexBear, you will need the custom set. i would greatly recommend crafting the equipment yourself, as it saves up a lot of money. Or you could buy it as a set, which will cost cheaper than crafting the equipment yourself. Plus, it saves time.

Crafting it can take longer but end up cheaper, you'll have to keep an eye on the recipe prices plus do the daily quests to get the components you need to craft the items. I bought mine because at the time the recipes were starting to be about the same price as the custom gear itself. Now it's a bit more realistic and you can even get a pretty nice deal if you catch people in an undercutting war, so patience is key.

Hmm I think I will try to attempt to get the ingredients first before buying the recipe. I have never done any of the daily quests in PL before. A new first for me!

I love it when people sell items for way below market price.

Thanks guys for sharing your experiences.

Custom suits a dex bear more than a bird, IMO.

At dual spec, you could rock about 49-50 crit, 27/6 HS/MS.

I love custom on my bear, on my bird doesn't feel right. I'd prefer Raid there.

Think you have a typo there, you meant talon, not auto-bow? jk, we agree to disagree there

Yes, that is where we split. Auto-bows for me and talons for you

Currently I have two RR armors/helms and the two RR bows (auto and recurve), the wing and the talon, for use on my bird and my dual bear. I am planning to customize one set only, and (at least on paper) the Customized Recurve shows better stat enhancements over RR than Customized Wing/Talon. You guys are talking about Recurve or all sets?

<edit> Customizing the Recurve and keeping RR Wing/Talon would be a bad idea for the dual bear? And for the bird?

I'm mainly referring to Custom Sets only, so Custom Auto-Bow, Custom Recurve, and Custom Talon/Wing.

The only reason why I'd prefer a Custom Auto-Bow is actually just for PvP. I'd love to have the stats of a Custom Recurve yet the range of an Auto-Bow

Mixing Custom and Raid items is a bad idea cause you will lose your set bonus. That's why I have custom cap, leather, recurve, talon, wing and auto-bow on bear, all Raid on bird.
Maybe OT for this thread: Despite having sparkling Custom and Raid, most times I wear a cheap Underling-Drainer-Sewer Scarab combination as bird. Somehow fits

I was using bagman's auto bow lvl 53-55.
I loved the range and I'm not sure but my attacks seemed to have a freeze proc?
I taunt, beckon, step back, mob freezes, stomp, freeze breaks.

Not sure if bows/xbows have procs.

    I don't think bows/xbows actually have a proc, it's the map.

If I'm not mistaken, the maps you see the procs in are either 3 or 4? Slime mobs?

The same thing happens when you use Hell Scream - they all seem to "freeze". They don't technically freeze since a freeze+stomp combo would happen, but it doesn't.

Ok just did a simple experiment, where I used a bagman's xbow and RR bow at 2 maps, Hideout and Catacombs.

Hideout: Both weapons did not have any special proc on enemies.
Catacombs: Bagman's xbow had a freeze proc. RR Bow had no visible proc.

Seems interesting. Any reason for this?

    No idea.

I don't know if its related to the fact that the slime mobs can't be frozen by a mage (unless I'm mistaken).
