Bot spamming is biggest issue now in AL. Lets contribute our suggestions here to support devs as much as we can try

My suggestion make disability one can't send same message more than 5times or 10times in a certain time period. Those bots use copy paste .. Yeah it will impact the buy sell of game items as well :/

In AL, to repeat a message, you need a PC. You just have to tap enter (to open the chat system), then push the up arrow (you can actually scroll all the messages you've sent and resend it)

It's very used by people who sell their items in game. That will only make it nasty for town merchants. Bots could simply send 2 different messages.

If you have to wait 5 seconds between each repeated messages... They will wait that 5 seconds anyways.

Try to find a way to not compromise the gaming experience... And you'll realize that a human brain is the best to pin those bots down.

Report that macro and show him how micro he is.

I can copy/paste "spam" on my Android... I don't think it's restricted to PC...

But regardless, spamming in general could cease, and a great majority of ppl would be happy. Ppl merching(spamming) sales in towns is equally as annoying to see...

No. I do not support this idea. this is very annoying for people who are selling or buying (merchants) . The disadvantage is too much for a little advantage. there's always a mute button. and a report button

annoying to see buy vial fossil, this is good idea to get rid of annoying merchants too.

I'm no pro at C++ (I'm more Java and Python),

but I'd like to suggest something like a method within the Chatbox class/file
that removes all non-Alphabet letters from a String of text.
And if the remaining letters turn out to be similar to the website for the USD --> Gold spam page,
the user's account is flagged, player is temporarily muted, report is sent to STS support with the time of when the chat line was sent, and what the message was.
So that the Support team can look into it and decide whether the player is a bot or not (because code can always make mistakes, we wouldn't want code accidentally banning a real player)

Again, I'm no C++ programmer, so I understand less than 10% of that code, but maybe the devs know what it means, and will hopefully take the idea into consideration

Everytime I see the website scam bot in towns I report it.

I notice they use a level 1 toon so perhaps restrict a level 1 toon to no longer venture ydra plus towns. Restrict it to windmore (gotta give level 1 twinks a hangout) where it can constantly receive the ban hammer.

Every way I've heard could be circumvented easily.
Make a word/phrase a trigger- they misspell it/ use spaces
Take out symbols- they'll change wording or add a bit of jibberish like babajerk
Time limit on chat- they'll adapt spam time

A simpler solution? They pay people to moderate the forums, give them the added responsibility to moderate the towns chat just the same. What's so hard about that?
They log on w/unmarked normal noob toons, walk town to town mute/collect names/ban and flag accounts to collect ISPs and acc ban/device ban.
Mods already exist, seems like the solution is so simple no one sees it.

The thing is that they are not only cracking down the bots, they are cracking down ALL the real world traders.

They seem to have some serious tracking techniques. They are catching people in giant nets.
