Damage Skill useless?

I have noticed that the damage skill is completely useless with a pet that gives a 5% damage buff or higher. Is this due to a bug or on purpose? I have used 5 points in this passive skill, and I didn't know about this until I had got to Level 46 in my Mage.

It's been broken this way for the better part of 2 years now. It's also been talked about here over and over but never gets fixed.

No it is not a bug it has been on game for years now but I can tell you that sts is changing the "add 1% dmg" to "0.5 or 1 dmg" I can't remember but it is not a percent so it doesn't cancel out pet buff that will come with skill mastery so maybe a month or so

Yep gives a mediocre amount of damage, for the price of 5 skill points...

It's useless like before. I got a whopping 17 damage which is about. 002% when mages now have 1100+ damage.

i also feel it's not worth to spend 5 points on, to get only a little extra dmg.
