Updating Content For The First Time

Hi,
I'm brand new to this application and I was wondering if anyone else has
experienced this problem. So the first of all, I downloaded and installed the application.
Created my account with its details on the Ipod itself and when I'm up to the part Login.
This is when you update the content for new updates/patches etc. Although this is the part
were my Ipod just stops and the application says that I am disconnected.

To be exact while the updating part is it says:
"RECIEVING CLIENT003.PAK"
********and after this********
"YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM THE SERVER"

I've tried deleted the app and re-installing it to fix it as it says, but still doesnt work.

Are you on wifi?

Devs have suggested turning off push as it might try to update your email during the patch and cause issues.

I downloaded this app my itouch first generation. The version of my ipod is 3.1.3 which is the iphones so yeah. Has that got anything to do with it?

and also what is this push stuff? I do not understand.
