About the crate keys...

so I heard about the crate keys taking over the hard to get platinum (if you don't use any electronic money). Was very hype about this. But the problem is. How do we obtain. Do we farm it in elites? Do we have to convert our platinum for it? (I wish not), Or maybe the roughest thing ever. Paying it with huge amount of gold. But still. Very hype about this.
