Weapons and Armor

Hello, I am new to the game. Can someone tell me or point me in the right direction on how the Weapon/Armor Tiers work? I have have seen green and orange so far. What tiers are those? Also how do you get advanced weapons?

Worst - > Best

Grey, White, Orange, Green, Purple, Pink.




EDIT: Get weapons by fighting monsters. The best come from the bigg boss guys normally.
