Removing Gems from items STS PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi I bought a lepre pendant that had frost gems in it that only give 1 int. these are old and out dated jewels. I'm trying to remove them so that i can socket some mind jewels instead but the game keeps telling me that i have "no upgrade jewels available", while i have 6 standard mind jewels in my crafting inventory. Why am i not able to just remove these crappy jewels so that i can socket new ones? Is this a bug, a glitch, or just an oversight on sts's behalf?

Standard mind jewel is too high of a level to put in a L1 item, if you have a L20 jewel u can only put it in L20+ items

Leprechaun Pendant is a Level 1 item. Jewels have level requirements. Weak Jewel is a level 1, therefore you can use it. Standard, I'm sorry to say to you is, a level 10 item. And the other jewels are higher levels. So you can't use your Standard Minds for your Lep. Hope that helps you.

Gems cannot be removed and retained whereas jewels can be.. u should have bought a clean lepre

Oh just put some weak jewels in it and you're good to go. In all honestly, having 9 extra stats is almost nothing nowadays. Even having a para gem on a leprechaun gives around 36 more damage only. It's negligible as you only wear before a boss dies.
