Holy cow, with just one sleep and an FB announcement, 32 bears seems very very possible now! Thank you everyone for participating!

Dirtymonkey_666 (Nzdevil) donated 1Million Gold for the Grand Prize! This should make the tourney more competitive, thanks heaps to him!

@Elly - The math does work out a little different using Sandy's method. Your final bracket would have to be predetermined based on total entries. For example: if you have 20 bears enter, u dont want to have a 16 bear final bracket. Might as well put them all into one bracket. My opinion would be to make a final bracket of 8 if u have less than 30 bears enter and a final bracket of 16 for more than 30.

The next is group division. You could have 3-5 bears in a group. Each bear fights each other one time and the top two are placed into your final bracket. If there is a record tie where u have three bears with the same record, then they coukd each fight again to settle the final two.

Just remeber ur final BRACKET would have to contain 8, 16, or 32 for the math to work out correctly.

Stick with groups of 4, if this group idea is the way it ends up. Group of 8 is too big and would require 7 matches each just to get out of Group play to the "tree". And getting that many "group" matches together with all the time zones involved = trouble waiting to happen.

Have to agree with Moog, need to keep it short-ish too since the tourney might be, hopefully not, simultaneous with the SL release.

In that case, 32-64 still seems like the right number? Even with grouping, but quick 1v1 eliminations, I still seem to get 32 or 64 as the required number. Sound right? D:

I'm thinking of cutting down the allowed participants to 32. Right now, we're only 6 short of 32.

What do you guys think? I'm just concerned on going over 32, since it'd mean that organizing player matches would be too complicated and extended the tournament too long.
