Default lvl52 help with skill dmg or weapon dmg

    hi...
I am looking for high damage
im lvl 52 like u can see,And I intend to stay that way for a while
I use a ring of 11 dmg and 1 crit so i need 67 dex minimum

My question is this:should i change my stats to 67 dex and the rest int for high dmg skills? (and loosing 4 weapon dmg)??
and if i do that, Exactly how much skills damage i will have??
    How do I know?
    tnx!
If there are alternatives like using a different ring and be full int plz write them after u answer the first question
    p.s.
im using mm staff and mm robe.
i have mm cowl but i need to balance the health regen so im using adept cowl

Well you could go for hybrid or dual spec, adds weapon dmg and that dmg will also give bonus to spell dmg. And just another thing, keep your potions at 25 each cuz you get plenty from sewer enemy drops.

If you are looking for max SKILL damage, then pure INT is the way to go. If you are wanting to increase hit, crit, and weapon damage, then yes you would need to adjust dex to your personal wants/needs.

As far as the pots statement, pot drops are random, not guaranteed. A mage without pots is a useless mage, especially when your own your own. My two cents.

Lightbulb Or dual spec INT/DEX maybe?

As Crim already said, best for 'sustained' skill dmg is pure INT. BUT.. It depends. A mage in dex gear deals way higher skill dmg than any INT mage... WHILE BUFFED. It's the critical hit% that makes it deal so much more dmg. Basically, whenever a skill hits, it crits (2x dmg, means it's like 2 spells hit while only casting 1). That is, if you're wearing full RR set at lv 51-52. Your crit while buffed is 101% (41% unbuffed).

But dex gear makes you VERY squishy, so I wouldn't recommend it to use everytime. Especially when you're the only mage in a group, you'd want to keep yourself alive. So, basically, a dual spec int/dex mage would be a valid option IMO. INT gear for mob clearing and survivability, Dex gear for boss murder

My 52 mage is dual spec INT/DEX, and I'm loving it

Here are some screenshots to give you an idea of stats and dmg.

Int Gear (full MM gear, expect for bracer wich is a Lowmann bracer->same skill dmg as MM bracer, little less armor, 2less m/s, 4 more h/s.. if I remember correctly)

Screenshot of lightning dmg, with INT gear (254-357dmg)

Dex gear (full RR recurve set), note the unbuffed criticial hit of 41% in the picture

Skill dmg is a little bit better as compared to INT gear, but the crit of 41% means you'll get way more critical hits (basically, 2x dmg). Note that the skill dmg compared to your pure int build (example lightning lv6: 289-391 for pure with staff, vs 265-359 with recurve) is less, but again this is made up with the amount of critical hits as compared to pure INT IMO, especially when buffed (see later screenshot)

screenshot of skill dmg for lightning (lv6), in dex gear:

Dex mages truly shine when buffed IMO. It even feels like I'm dealing way more dmg than my lv56 pure INT build, while buffed. Note the critical hit in the picture below:

So, IMO, if you want the highest dmg possible, a dual spec could be more than just a valid alternative. I didn't like a dex mage at first (no dual spec), because I died a lot. But this dual spec... I'm liking it every bit of the way
Don't get me wrong, my preference is still pure INT, but if you're looking for the highest dmg possible, a dual spec mage could be an alternative. If you don't intend to dual spec, I'd stay pure INT though. The 67 dex is a popular PvP build because it adds to your hit%, allows you to wear a dex ring and does a bit more single target dmg (auto-attack), but your skill dmg will suffer. For pve, this has not much use IMO.

Anyway, hope this gives you an idea of an alternative build

Completely off-topic: dual spec also allows you to wear a sentinel set on your mage. And this is, IMO, one of the coolest outfits on a Mage LOL

Edit: I should check what ring I'm wearing on these screenshots. I can post that later, if you're interested

wow tnx for the info but...i dont want dex gear, i have dex mage lvl 56 and when i wan lvl. 55 and below i needed to fight for my life lol
dex mage lvl. 56 is more then fun cos i have. 102 armor! no armor ring... and i die less !
back to my question, why did u say 67 dex and rest in int is not that much in pve?
it seems to me that i get high weapon dmg with the ring and almost high skills dmg.
    why not?
i dont want to be pure int, cos weapon dmg is too low
    and i hate wand lol

In pve, most targets are dead before your wand even hits anything. Most targets get hit with your skills. And, although I don't have the exact numbers anymore, your skill dmg will be lower with 67 dex. Even with that +10 or +11 dmg ring. Heal will also be a little less effective... Although maybe not a lot, it can sometimes mean the difference between a happy or a death team mate.

Edit: touched the 'send' button on my tiny mobile phone-screen per accident.

So, you asked how to deal most dmg, the answer (if not wanting to use dex gear) is to stay pure int. Skill dmg>single target auto-attack dmg in pve, any time of the day IMO

Why did you have to get sooooo technical?? LMAO My explanation seemed like a brain fart compared to your "theory of relativity" post.

    last question...
do u have thr exact numburs of the skill dmg with:
    pure int?
    67 dex and rest int?
cos if the different between them is minor ill take my chances with the 67 dex ring and gain a few crit, weapon dmg and a little quick killing bosses
if u have exact numbers it will be awesome
    tnx! !
    edit:cris, ure comment is obvious
    i knew that lol
but i need to know if i can ballance between them or not.
Enjoy the best of both worlds

I go pure int. The blessing of might is soo powerful. It increases my critical and damage.

Your choice of 67 dex definitely is a valid one. Hope you like it
As for the pix, it would be nice to see the exact numbers, but it's not necessary for me

This may not be as useful since I am a pvp person. I noticed you have both debuffs maxed. Weakness and knightmare. If you are looking to do more damage, then why not max lightning? It has the quickiest cooldown and good aoe and damage. Also, your ices are at one each. Why not reduce debuffs , max light and get your ices slightly higher. At least the aoe one so u can freeze larger groups with higher damage and hot flash with fire for combo.
In regards to your attributes. 67 dex is cool w rest int, but try this. Go 78 dex rest int instead. It may provide the balance you need from hybrid (67) and dual (split int/dex) with so many point into your dex you could reduce dex, to 78 and get some str say 16 for added +1 dodge and armor, rest int.
If survivoribilty is still in question remove nightmare, move to Shield and max lightning. That high of debuffs in a pve mob are semi useless since the group will kill them quick. Im not against debuffs though I have weakness as a pvp player! Hehe.

IMO, I would suggest being a dual spec, DEX/INT mage. Use INT gear for mob clearing and DEX gear for boss.

Here are my stats from when I experimented with DEX/INT mage on my lvl 56.

Skill damage while using Custom Set
    Lightning > 273-370
    Heal > 103-209
    Firestorm > 279-363
    Drain Life > 309-417
Wep Damage (No buffs) > 213-258
    Crit (No buffs) > 49%

Skill damage while using Enchanted Set
    Lightning > 307-413
    Heal > 110-223
    Firestorm > 315-406
    Drain Life > 345-462
Wep damage (No buffs) > 240-278
    Crit (No buffs) > 11%

You can look at the screen shots from my thread, 109% Critical!

    I actually don't like kimchi.
